In cavalry history of Grand Duchy of Lithuania the hussars take exceptional place. This type of cavalry emerged because of variety of internal and external factors. Constant changeover process at first synchronized with analogues in other Central European countries later on in Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth took another path. Distinctive cavalry type was formed. This type of cavalry sometimes is called winged hussars.
Vytautas the Great War Museum has a lot of fighting attributes of this specific cavalry type. Exhibition represents details of weaponry and armor which reflects distinctive fighting style of hussars.
